We have following urgent requirement for Abu Dhabi:

Position : Mechanical Draftsman
Work Location : Abu Dhabi
Contract Period : Long Terms (Direct Hire)

PURPOSE & SCOPE:
Jobs at this level are engaged in the production of engineering drawings and the supervision of Draftsmen. Job holders perform their Drafting roles within discipline-specific areas of projects and might not be involved in all the accountabilities set out below. This fact does not mean that jobs will be any larger or smaller in evaluation terms as a result of this situation.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews and checks the work of Draftsmen to ensure accuracy and correctness prior to their formal issue for construction.
Undertakes pre-engineering site surveys in order to confirm the correctness of handover documents and suitability of allocated site for project implementation.
Receives basic drawings from Drafting Team Leader and produces detailed engineering drawings for review and subsequent issue.
Prepares General Arrangement Drawings (GADs)
Produces material take-offs to ensure accurate account is taken of all component parts required to complete a project.
Produces 3 dimensional (3D) modelling presentations to meet contractual client requirements. Applies to large projects, if required.
Prepares data diskettes for the Computer Numerical Control system.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Higher national Certificate, or *equivalent, and an ITI Certificate in Drafting.
8 year’s previous Drafting experience with a t least 5 years at Level 1.
Supervisory potential.
Team player.
Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
Experienced and competent Computer Aided Design (CAD) operator.
Rigorous checker.
Technical knowledge covering:
Thread connections and their representation;
Cross section representation;
Tolerances, systems, selection, representation;
Welding symbols and their representation;
Dimensioning in ISO system;
Pressure vessels representation, schematics, cross sections, etc;
Basic knowledge of descriptive geometry, bodies representation, solids intersections, etc;
Basic knowledge of metallic materials, their applications, basic welding properties;
Basic knowledge of stress and strain, capability of performing basic sizing of axial and combined stress calculations.
Knowledge of design and fabrication details related to pressure vessels elements;
Detailed Knowledge of ISO standards related to technical drawings;
Basic knowledge of oil related facilities, piping layouts, P&ID’s reading and interpretation, electrical drawings reading and interpretation, etc.
* Note that equivalent not only covers equivalent education or vocation certification, but also covers experience, e.g., 5-10 years relevant experience can be regarded as “equivalent”.
